A. Bowen
President
Dorothy Bowen
established the firm of Bowen and Briggs, Inc. in 1994,
to provide executive search and consultation services
for children’s healthcare organizations. The clients
served by Bowen and Briggs include leading children’s
hospitals nationally, as well as other healthcare
organizations providing pediatric/women and children’s
services.
As a
nurse and healthcare executive with more than thirty
years’ experience, Dottie serves as the Principal for
Executive Search Services of Bowen & Briggs. She enjoys
working in partnership with clients to achieve
successful placement and retention of leaders. As a
consultant, she has assisted clients with strategic
planning, organizational assessment, design of patient
care services, recruitment and retention program
development, team building and executive management
coaching. Ms. Bowen served as Consultant for The
National Association of Children’s Hospitals and Related
Institutions successful FOCUS Group Initiative for five
years.
Her
previous experience includes Vice President for Patient
Services at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children,
Philadelphia,
PA;
Director of Nursing and Neonatal Clinical Nurse
Specialist at Children’s Hospital,
Columbus,
OH;
and Neonatal Clinical Nurse Specialist at The Ohio State
University Department of Pediatrics.
She
is a member of the American Organization of Nurse
Executives and the Society of Pediatric Nurses, and has
served on a number of boards of healthcare, professional
and community organizations. Ms. Bowen holds a Diploma
in Nursing from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing,
Atlanta,
GA; a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Florida State
University,
Tallahassee,
FL;
and a Master’s degree in Nursing from
Ohio
State
University,
Columbus,
