Bowen and Briggs, Inc. is conducting the search for Nursing Director of Cardiac Center, Nemours Children’s Hospital. Located in Orlando, Florida, Nemours Children’s Hospital is the newest addition to the Nemours integrated health care system. Designed and built as an integrated facility with inpatient, ancillary services and clinics, as well as a pediatric Emergency Department and specialty care throughout the region, the new 100-bed hospital opened in 2012. A master plan is developed for anticipated future growth. The Nursing Director of Cardiac Center is a new position, responsible for planning and a key role in development of the new cardiac program integrated with Nemours AI duPont Hospital for Children. This position is responsible for: leading nursing professional contribution to the care of neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired cardiovascular disease. The Director is responsible for all nursing functions within the Cardiac Center at NCH. This position reports to the Senior Director of Nursing for Nursing Practice, Quality, Education, Research and Regulatory Issues and to the Director of the Cardiac Center for Medical Care issues. In addition, the Director of Nursing is a member of the Cardiac Center Leadership team composed of the Director, the Co-Director, the Chief of Cardiology and the Administrative Director; and a member of the Cardiac Center Care Committee. The Director will provide leadership in the following clinical areas: Cardiac Care Unit, Catheterization Lab, Cardiac OR and Outpatient Clinics; approximately 37 staff. Will hire CICU RN’s; CICU clerks/patient care techs; Cath lab RNs; Cath Techs; CV OR RN’s and First Assistants; RT’s and Perfusionists. Staff will be hired by August 2015 and the new center will open in early 2016.

Top-ranked candidate will have vision, a commitment to building the integrated cardiac program, strong understanding of quality and safety, as well as outstanding communication and team-building abilities. The Director will have pediatric cardiac experience and at least 5 years of leadership experience; and a Master’s degree in nursing or related field (candidates enrolled in a program may be considered), along with BSN and current/eligible Florida RN license.
